Erin Storm: 5 Things To Know About ‘Bachelor’ Star Who Died In Plane Crash

So sad! Erin Storm, who competed for Bachelor Matt Grant’s love in 2008, has been killed after a plane she was piloting crashed near a Hawthorne, CA airport. While she never won the heart of the handsome Brit, she went on to lead an impressive life.

Bachelor tragedy! Erin Storm, who was a contestant in Season 12 of the ABC hit, has died following a plane crash near the airport she worked at. She gained fame looking for love on the show, but was eventually sent home by Matt Grant in week three. She went on to become a pilot, but her lightweight aircraft she was at the controls of crashed March 21, and she later died from her injuries. Let’s get to know a little more about Erin and her life before and after The Bachelor.

Here are five things to know about Erin’s short life:

1. Erin got her pilot’s license after competing on The Bachelor.

She liked to fly light personal aircraft out of Hawthorne Airport, where the fatal crash took place.

2. Erin gave a less than impressive job description when she appeared on The Bachelor.

She claimed her profession was a “hot dog vendor,” not exactly a job that would impress a British Bachelor.

3.  Erin travelled the world as an international flight attendant before appearing on The Bachelor.

From May 2000 through until Sept. 2008, Erin flew the friendly skies on international routes as a flight attendant with United Airlines. She was based out of San Francisco.

4.  Erin’ Facebook photos show the aircraft she later died in.

On Jan. 13, she posted a photo of an Airborne XT-912 light-sport, weight-shift control plane, the same craft that she crashed in. Not only that, it was on the runway at Hawthorne Airport near where she was killed. Spooky!

5. Erin is the second Bachelor contestant to die in 2016.

Sadly, Erin Storm is the second contestant from the series to die this year. Back in Feb., Lex McAllister passed away from an apparent suicide. She was eliminated in the first week of Jake Pavelka‘s season.
