The Good Wife is coming to an end after seven seasons, and everyone’s wondering who will be returning for the last episodes. The biggest question we have — will Kalinda make one last final appearance? Executive producers Robert and Michelle King’s spilled the fate of a possible Kalinda return!
“No, that’s not our expectation,” said co-creator Michelle said during a conference call with reporters on Feb. 8. “Kalinda went off deliberately to disappear, and we’re honoring that choice. It wouldn’t make sense for her to come back.”
Kalinda was last seen at the end of season 6. While Kalinda will not be returning to the show in its final episodes, Robert and Michelle did reveal that Kurt McVeigh (Gary Cole) will be coming back. They’re also hoping to get Robyn Burdine (Jess Weixler) back before the show ends.
The Good Wife announced it would be ending after season 7 during the Super Bowl on Feb. 7. The final nine episodes will begin airing on Feb. 14. The series finale will air May 8. Michelle and Robert wouldn’t spill details on the episodes, but they did say they like when an ending is “surprising and inevitable.”
When asked about the idea of a spinoff, Michelle replied, “Nothing’s off the table.” Robert added, “What would be fun is to find a way to spin off a [character] that wasn’t at the center, who we wish we had more time with. The show always centered around the Alicia character. What’s appealing would be pursuing a different ensemble.”
