Monty Geer has a brilliant idea: give Awkward‘s Theo and Cole their own series! HollywoodLife.com spoke EXCLUSIVELY with the actor, best known for his role as the lovable and super funny Cole, about how MTV can keep the series alive after it’s final season comes to an end in 2016.
The final half of Awkward‘s fifth season doesn’t return until 2016, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little fun speculating how it will end. That’s why it was so much fun talking to Cole himself — Monty Geer — all about saying goodbye to Awkward.
“We told everyone it was the last season, but I have heard the show runners might want to do another season and if they do I would be very happy to continue with the show,” Monty told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “I am working on my own thing right now but I would love to do more ‘Awkward!'” Um, yes please!
But wait, it gets even better than that. Monty also said, “Imagine a Theo and Cole spinoff? That would be really fun. I’m sure after high school they would be up to some crazy things. I love ‘Awkward’ and everything that comes with it, so if it were to continue I would be happy.”
However, as exciting as that idea is, Monty admits that seeing Awkward come to an end hasn’t been very easy. “You know I’m pretty sad that it us ending because ‘Awkward’ has been a major blessing,” Monty told HollywoodLife.com in our EXCLUSIVE interview. “It has been such an amazing show to work on, and playing Cole has been incredibly fun. Fans out there that have grown up and gone through high school at the same time this show has gone on. ‘Awkward’ was the best.” True story, Monty.
