Lamar Odom, you’ve been given the blessing of a second chance at life. You need to take full advantage of it even if your “romantic marriage” to Khloe Kardashian cannot be mended. I say “romantic marriage” because Khloe may remain reluctant to divorce you legally, while there’s still any chance that she has to make or at least help with your medical decisions.
Khloe has made it beyond clear that she still loves you. She told People magazine in a new interview: “I will always love him. I don’t believe love is fickle.” But the world doesn’t even need to hear her say it. She made her feelings obvious when she raced to your side when you were found barely alive after an overdose at The Love Ranch brothel.
Khloe, as you know now, barely left your hospital room while you fought for your life. But now that you are walking and talking and almost miraculously have regained the functioning of your kidneys, she is understandably starting to regain her normal life. And you also need to start thinking about how you want to live the rest of your life, even without Khloe. You’re only 35. There is so much you can do. But you can’t get there and know with certainty that you’ll be able to play or to coach basketball again or start up a new TV career, or whatever, until you put your addiction demons behind you. And you need to do this whether or not Khloe is ready to give your marriage another shot. Drug addiction is a disease and it requires intensive, sustained treatment like so many other serious diseases.
Once you are physically ready, you should check yourself into a residential treatment center that is “away” from home, according to Dr. Drew Pinsky, a producer and star of Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew. Furthermore, Dr. Drew says that recovery can take a very long time. “Most addicts do not remember their first year in recovery,” he told Hollywoodlife.com in an exclusive interview. “They really are very foggy for like a year. You have to go very, very slow because their brain is healing.”
So, Lamar, you do have a lengthy road to recovery ahead and you need to commit to that, whether or not Khloe, 31, is willing to give your marriage, in the fullest sense of the word, another try. We’ve heard that nothing might make you happier than to have Khloe recommitted to you in a romantic way as a wife. “He wants that life with her again. He’s doing everything in his power to get better on his own because he doesn’t want to be a burden on her. He’s fighting for Khloe just as much as she’s fighting for him,” an insider told Hollywoodlife.com exclusively.
We hear that you are determined not to lose Khloe to new boyfriend James Harden, but no matter what happens Lamar, you still need to go to rehab and get cured of your substance abuses. You need to do that for you, and for your children — not just for Khloe! Lamar, go to rehab — for you!
Do you agree, Hollywoodlifers? Should Lamar go to rehab whether or not Khloe takes him back? Let me know.
