Wait what? It seems like everyone who’s anyone has been joining Taylor Swift, 25, on her 1989 world tour, but Rihanna, 27, isn’t interested in joining the pop princess on stage. The “American Oxygen” singer spoke candidly about Tay and her “role model” status in a new interview, revealing why she thinks it “doesn’t make sense” to join her on stage. Rihanna and Taylor both have a ton of star power, and we would love to see these talented ladies collaborate! Sadly, Ri just killed that dream. When asked if she would join Taylor on tour, she told NME magazine: “I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense.” But why not? “I don’t think our brands are the same. I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same,” Rihanna continued. “In my mind she’s a role model, I’m not.”
Rihanna is known for her racy and carefree attitude which totally comes across in her music and on stage. Her latest music video, “BBHMM” even showed off her dark side, and many fans were taken aback by all the violence and nudity. Well, now it seems we know that Rihanna made it to impress no one! Meanwhile, Tay is known for her (more recently) poppy ballads and is busy trying to change the future of music streaming. Though the artists are completely different, both are equally as talented, so we’re a little bummed to hear a future collaboration might not be possible. Perhaps we’ll hold out just a bit of hope though!
