Zayn Malik, 22, brushed off his relationship with Perrie Edwards, 22, when he abruptly ended things with her. However, in light of recent events, the singer feels awful about his behavior towards his ex. An insider tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Zayn has been calling and texting Perrie ever since she cried on Aug. 19 during a performance with Little Mix. Before the girl group member broke down in front of Little Mix fans on stage and on camera, Zayn felt his standoffish and shady behavior towards his ex-fiancé was justified. “Zayn has been taking a lot of abuse recently for how he is handling his split with Perrie. He’s pretty much been ignoring her. Unless you count him dissing her on social media,” an insider revealed EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “The thing is Zayn really didn’t intend on things turning out this way. He can be far too sensitive and he felt Perrie was really letting him get blasted in the media.” However, after seeing P cry on stage in the middle of a song, Zayn is changing his tune.
“Now he sees how hard she’s taking everything and he feels like a world class d***,” the source continued to tell us. “He’s been calling and texting her just to see how she’s doing and talk but Perrie isn’t answering.” If only the two would just sit down and talk things out! Ending an engagement and breaking up a 3.5 year relationship with a simple text message will give neither parties closure!
Although the former One Direction member has been keeping a cool composure amidst his public break up, his friends are actually worried about him. “He is self-destructing right now and I hope he’s got someone there for him,” a “former ally” of Zayn’s said, according to Daily Mail. “I doubt he has, though, so that’s why I’m worried for him.” Yikes. Hopefully Zayn does have a couple of close friends he can confide in.
Tell us, HollywoodLifers! Do you think it’s a good idea for Zayn to try and reach out to Perrie?
