What a tragedy. Jamie Sangouthai, 37, shockingly and sadly died of a heroin overdose, according to a new report. Lamar Odom and Khloe Kardashian’s good friend passed away on June 14 in a Los Angeles hospital. Jamie had made appearances on Khloe & Lamar and Keeping Up with The Kardashians in the years before his death.
Jamie was taken to the hospital after someone called 911 on June 14. He later passed away of an apparent heroin overdose, TMZ is reporting. Jamie’s alleged drug troubles were featured on Khloe & Lamar. It’s also being reported that Jamie had a role in Lamar’s alleged downward spiral with drugs.
However, the official cause of death has not been released. Regardless of what happened, Jamie is being mourned by his closest friends. Malika Haqq, 32, posted a photo with Jamie, Lamar and Khloe with the caption, “Thru good and bad times life shows us every spirit matters and leaves a print on the hearts of others after they have passed… RIP Jamie Sangouthai #GodHelpUsAll.”
Khloe, 30, tweeted about Jamie as well. She wrote, “When does it stop? RIP Jamie Sangouthai,” which was accompanied by a broken heart emoji. She tweeted additional broken hearts and sad face emojis in a separate tweet. In the early hours of June 15, Khloe shared an emotional Instagram message. It read: “Life doesn’t get easier but I promise you that life will make you stronger.”
Lamar, 35, has yet to speak out on Jamie’s death, but he is likely devastated by the news. Jamie and Lamar grew up in Queens, New York together, according to Daily Mail. Jamie was one of Lamar’s best men in his marriage to Khloe.
While on Khloe & Lamar, Jamie and the former NBA player were partners in a clothing line titled Rich Soil. Jamie was diagnosed with digestive disease diverticulitis in 2008, and Lamar helped him with his medical expenses.
