Nearly a week after Zayn Malik, 22, left One Direction, the newly solo singer released a demo with UK musician Naughty Boy on March 30 and Directioners freaked out! It turns out that the track isn’t really meant to be Zayn’s first “solo” song. HollywoodLife.com can EXCLUSIVELY confirm that the song was a demo that the two worked on for One Direction months ago and it didn’t end up making the album!
Naughty Boy and Zayn recorded the demo in 2014 to present as a possible track for 1D’s album Four, a One Direction rep confirmed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY!
“It’s important fans know this isn’t a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future. If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It’s not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track,” an insider revealed to Daily Mail.
“They aren’t furiously working on his solo material or anything, there aren’t plans for anything and this wasn’t recorded in the last few days. They are very good friends and Zayn is taking time out including visiting Naughty Boy at his studio and hanging out,” the insider went added.
Ok, so “I Won’t Mind,” isn’t Zayn’s big first solo single, but can we expect more music from the two soon? They have been playing around in the studio “but nothing is imminent,” a HollywoodLife.com exclusive source revealed to us.
HollywoodLifers, do you think One Direction is mad that Zayn recorded and released the song on his own? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
