How To Make A

Hawaiian Burger with Grilled Pineapple

It’s summer time, & there’s no better time to dress up your favorite burgers with something sweet! In partnership with McCormick® Grill Mates®, superstar Nick Lachey is sharing one of his favorites to make on the grill.

I’ve always been a fan of grilling, but what’s really special is the time behind the scenes when it’s just classic rock, a cold beer, close family and friends about to enjoy the afternoon and awesome food.

So, let’s make some  Hawaiian Burgers with Grilled Pineapple just like Nick!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1 pound ground pork 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper 1/4 cup finely chopped green onion 2 tablespoons McCormick® Grill Mates® Sweet & Smoky Rub, plus more for sprinkling 4 fresh pineapple rings 4 sweet Hawaiian-style or potato hamburger rolls

Mix pork, pepper, onion & 2 tablespoons of the Rub in medium bowl. Shape into patties. Refrigerate 30 minutes to allow flavors to blend.

Grill burgers over medium heat 4 to 6 minutes per side or until cooked through (internal temperature should reach 160ºF).

Meanwhile, sprinkle pineapple rings lightly on both sides with Rub. Grill alongside pork 3 to 5 minutes, turning occasionally, until lightly charred.

Don’t forget to toast the buns, on grill, cut-side down, about 30 seconds.

Before putting on the bun, think about dressing it up with great toppings such as lettuce, sliced tomatoes, red onion, sliced avocado and white Cheddar cheese.
