Gwen Stefani

The 90s Music,  Fashion, &  Moments That Made Her Iconic

Gwen Stefani is an alt-girl ICON. Long before she was Blake Shelton’s spouse & dropping B-A-N-A-N-A-S solo hits, she was changing the game for women in music and fashion. Let’s travel back to the 1990s!

Even though she had been making music for years, the breakout moment for Gwen came with the drop of ‘Don’t Speak’, the 3rd single from the band No Doubt, in 1996.

The album, ‘Tragic Kingdom’ catapulted the band into superstardom and was nominated for their first two Grammys.

As the band began to blow up, so did Gwen and her style was revered by all who loved the alt-girl looks she was pulling off.

Her signature look usually comprised of midriff-baring crop tops with low-slung boyfriend-fit jeans, and lots of accessories.

Her hair color was always unpredictable too! Sometimes pink, sometimes blue, sometimes platinum blonde! It was always a surprise!

She also was very big on wearing face gems as part of her beauty look. Sometimes a single stone, sometimes a full set across her eyebrows. It always brought her look together!

Gwen closed out the 90’s in Times Square, singing ‘It's The End Of The World As We Knew It’ at the 2000 New Year’s Eve bash on MTV.
