Bernadette Peter’s

Broadway Journey

She is perhaps one of the most recognizable and celebrated performers on the stage of all time. Here are the shows Bernadette Peter’s has brought to life on Broadway

She made her debut in 1967 as a standby in the production of The Girl in the Freudian Slip as Leslie Maugham.

A year later, she dazzled the Palace Theatre audiences as Josi Cohan in George M!

In 1971, she put on a show with the production of On the Town as Hildy Esterhazy.

Perhaps her most beloved role to date, she played Dot/Marie in the Sondheim musical Sunday in the Park with George in 1984.

Three years later, she transformed into The Witch in another of Sondheim’s best, Into The Woods.

From there, she played many roles practically made for her: Paula in The Goodby Girl; Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun and Rose in the musical Gypsy.

Most recently, she took up the baton from Bette Midler in the 2018 production of Hello, Dolly! as the incomparable Dolly Gallagher Levi.
