Sydney Sweeney is a force to be reckoned with. Born in Spokane, Washington on September 12, 1997, the actress has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most talked-about stars. She began her career in commercials and indie films before moving to Los Angeles at age 14 to pursue acting full-time. Her breakout came with the 2018 Netflix series Everything Sucks!, where she portrayed a ’90s high schooler navigating identity and adolescence in Seattle.
Since then, Sydney’s star has only continued to rise. She gained widespread acclaim for her role as Cassie Howard on HBO’s Euphoria, captivating audiences with her emotionally charged performances. She went on to earn an Emmy nomination for her work in The White Lotus, and appeared in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood. In 2023 and 2024, she took on leading roles in the hit romantic comedy Anyone But You and the psychological horror film Immaculate, showcasing her range across genres.
Now, Sydney is tackling one of her most transformative roles yet — portraying trailblazing boxer Christy Martin in the biopic Christy. Sydney underwent a dramatic physical transformation for the part, training multiple times a day and gaining over 30 pounds of muscle. She’s described the experience as “physically and emotionally demanding, but incredibly fulfilling.”
