Norman Milton Lear was born on July 27, 1922, and over the following 101 years of his life, he became one of the biggest names on the small screen. See photos of the late star here.

As a screenwriter and producer, Norman wrote, created, produced, or developed over 100 shows, including a variety of 1970s sitcoms like ‘All In The Family,’ ‘Maude,’ “Sandford and Son,’ ‘The Jeffersons,’ ‘Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman,’ and “Good Times.’  He also worked as a producer on films like ‘The Princess Bride’ and ‘Fried Green Tomatoes.’ Norman’s work also reflected his commitment to First Amendment and liberal causes, with episodes reflecting the progressive views. His work also earned him numerous awards, including the Emmy for Most Outstanding Comedy series, the Peabody Award, the American Humanist Association’s Humanist Arts Awards

In his life, Lear was married three times. Through those three marriages, he and his partners welcomed six children together. Norman passed away on December 5, 2023 at the age of 101. Take a look at the late TV titan.
