Lo first appeared as a Fly Girl on the sketch series In Living Color in 1991. By 1993, she chose to pursue her own acting career and won the coveted role of Selena Quintanilla in the biopic Selena. She received her first Golden Globe nomination for her work and went on to have a flourishing acting career.
J. Lo also started her music career with her first album On The 6 in 1999.
