Cindy Williams, best known for playing Shirley Feeney on Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley, died on Jan. 25, 2023. She was 75 years old. ‘The passing of our kind, hilarious mother, Cindy Williams, has brought us insurmountable sadness that could never truly be expressed,’ her adult children, Zachary and Emily, told the ‘Associated Press’ in a statement on Jan. 30. ‘Knowing and loving her has been our joy and privilege. She was one of a kind, beautiful, generous, and possessed a brilliant sense of humor and a glittering spirit that everyone loved.’

Cindy first began acting professionally in 1969 when she snagged a spot on ABC’s Room 222. She then landed a string of commercials and eventually landed a regular role on The Funny Side, which was hosted by Gene Kelly. She notably appeared in the films Drive, He Said (1971) and Beware! The Blob (1972). One of the earlier films she is known for is American Graffiti, which debuted in 1973. The low-budget film was so popular that it earned itself a sequel, More American Graffiti, in 1979.
