‘Station 19’s Boris Kodjoe Teases Andy & Sullivan’s Future Will ‘Continue To Be Challenging’

Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari Parker spoke EXCLUSIVELY with HL about how their lives have changed this year and teased what’s ahead on ‘Station 19’ and ‘Chicago P.D.’

Sullivan hasn’t had it easy on Station 19, but he’s on the mend. He’s back on the job after nearly being fired, and he’s dealing with so many things at once in both his work life and personal life with Andy. HollywoodLife talked EXCLUSIVELY with Boris Kodjoe about what’s ahead for Sullivan.

“It’s getting progressively more difficult to balance the job, the private life, the recent marriage, her father’s death, his drug problems, and the chronic pain that he’s been suffering from,” Boris told HollywoodLife while promoting his partnership with Pine-Sol. “And it seems like they are juggling a lot of things and on top of it they are living in a pandemic so it’s going to continue to be challenging but hopefully, they are not going to give up.” Nicole Ari Parker, a fellow actress who’s been married to Boris since 2005, quipped that Sullivan and Herrera just need a Pine-Sol blanket and a Saturday Morning candle and they’ll “be just fine.”

Nicole, who recently wrapped her role as Giselle on Empire, is now on Chicago P.D. playing Deputy Superintendent Miller. She teased what’s next for Miller in future episodes. “The writers keep me on my toes, so I don’t know,” she noted. “But I know they really want to get into it and see if they can find a way into Hank and the police force there to reconcile with their mistakes in the past and to promise for a better future with the police force in that community.”

Boris and Nicole also discussed their partnership with Pine-Sol, which is launching its first-ever online retail shop called the Pine-Store, a one-stop-shop of must-have gifts and gear for brands of superfans who are proud to use Pine-Sol to get the deep clean they know and love. With so many cleaning brands out there, Boris revealed why Pine-Sol is a brand he always comes back to. “I think it’s a combination from effectiveness and the culture, the memories, the generational connection with the smell and what it means,” He said.

Like so many families, Boris and Nicole have been more time at home than ever before due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Nicole noted that their family cleaning routine has changed. They’re using the Pine-Sol products “undiluted” and “going through the product quickly” since Pine-Sol cleaning products “officially have the COVID-19 kill claim.”

Pine-Sol’s online shop is honoring the community that has upheld Pine-Sol’s heritage throughout the years by making a $250,000 donation plus 100% of Pine-Store proceeds to digitalundivided, a social startup that leverages data to develop innovative programs to support Black female entrepreneurs and catalyze economic growth in their communities.

Boris also opened up about how their family has adapted to all of the changes in daily life that the pandemic has caused. “You know, it has been a challenge like for everybody else, we stayed close, we had all the necessary conversations with our children, who are 15 and 14 who have real perspectives and opinions on matters that are in the news every day,” he told HollywoodLife.
