Nikki Bella didn’t need to write a letter to Santa this year. The Total Bellas star and Artem Chigvintsev celebrated “Christmas In July” when Nikki, 36, gave birth to their first child, Matteo, on the last day of the summer month. But, now that the weather is getting colder, Nikki’s planning the best Christmas ever with her new family. “Nikki has a lot of holiday family traditions that are going to be extra special this year now that she has Matteo,” a Bella source tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.
“She and her family have this dinner they do every year before Christmas [called the Little Drummer Boy dinner] that was started by her grandfather when she and Brie were little,” the source tells HollywoodLife. “It’s all about the grandkids, and now the great-grandkids, and for the first time, Nikki will be there with her own child. That’s going to be extremely special, and she’s really looking forward to that. But the best part about the coming months will be having Artem back all to herself. She truly can’t wait.”
Nikki gave birth on July 31, one day before her twin, Brie Bella, welcomed her second child with husband Daniel Bryan, a boy named Buddy. Shortly after becoming a daddy, Artem had to report to the set and film the new season of Dancing with the Stars. While he admitted it’s been “lonely” to be away from his son, the hard work might be worth it. Along with Matteo, Nikki and Artem may have another “addition” for the holidays: the DWTS mirrorball trophy. Artem and The Bachelorette’s Kaitlyn Bristowe are competing in the season 29 finale on Nov. 23. Nikki “rooting for him” to finally win DWTS after nine seasons as a Pro, a second source tells HollywoodLife EXCLUSIVELY.
“But most of all,” this insider adds, “as much as she’s so happy Artem is doing what he loves, [Nikki] can’t wait until he’s back home full time with her and Matteo. It’s going to feel amazing to have him back in time to officially celebrate their first holiday season together as a family, and that’s one of the things she’s looking forward to the most.”
Nikki “expects him to win,” a third insider shares EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife, because she’s been watching him slay the competition all season long. “But once he is done, then 100% of his time can be with family and the holidays. They plan on spending it all together with her sister and her husband and are looking into the new year for more milestones together. It has been great so far, and it will be even greater to have this time together as a family for the holidays. Everyone is ready for it.”
