*The Jeffersonian explodes with the team inside.
The Jeffersonian is left completely destroyed after multiple bombs go off. Thankfully, everyone survives the explosion. Cam and Arastoo made it out before the bombs went off.
*Brennan loses her memory.
After the explosion, Brennan loses some of her memory due to head trauma. She worries throughout the episode about whether or not she’ll get it back. There’s a sweet and heartfelt scene where Booth tells her why she shouldn’t worry about her memory because her intelligence isn’t what makes up all of her.
“You’re the woman I love,” he says to her in the series finale. “I don’t care if you don’t know about the bones, or if we know how to solve crimes. All I know is that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. This is you, Temperance Brennan. You’re my partner. Don’t forget that.”
*Angela’s baby is OK!
Angela and Hodgins are frantic about the safety of their unborn baby after the explosion, especially since Angela was thrown against a wall. Thankfully, Brennan, with a little help from Angela, is able to listen to the baby’s heartbeat while they’re trapped inside.
*Kovac is Jeanine’s brother.
After finding Jeanine’s DNA on the explosives, Booth and Brennan figure out that Jeanine is Kovak’s brother not her husband. The marriage was just a cover-up. She admits she killed Brennan’s dad, too!
*Kovac is caught after a shootout.
Kovac finally gets what’s coming to him in the final episode. Even though Booth is injured during the face-off, he’s able to take down Kovac for good by shooting him right in the head. In the midst of all this, Brennan gets all of her memory back!
*Aubrey is staying in DC.
Turns out, Aubrey will not be moving across the country. He’s staying in DC after realizing that’s where he belongs. He’s still broken up with Jessica, but there may be new love on the horizon with Karen! He invites her to eat the fried chicken she brought him. Nothing says love like buckets of fried chicken.
*Cam and Arastoo have some big news!
The reason for Cam’s leave of absence is because she’s going to Mississippi with Arastoo to pick up her boys! Yes, Cam and Arastoo are adopting three boys — Tyler, Isaiah, and Jordan — who’ve been in foster care.
*There’s a new interim director of the lab!
While Cam is away with Arastoo and adjusting to life with their kids, Hodgins will serve as the interim director of the lab! His reaction to this news is absolutely priceless.
*Those throwbacks, though…
As the team goes through their things that were salvageable after the explosion, they pick up some pretty nostalgic pieces. There are sentimental nods to both Zack Addy and Sweets. Even though they couldn’t be a part of the final episode, longtime fans will appreciate these moments.
