Yahoo Hacked: Billions Of User Account Information Stolen — Was Yours?

Oh no! Yahoo announced that hackers stole data from more than one BILLION accounts. So what does this mean for its users? We have all the details, here.

Yahoo revealed on Dec. 14 that hackers robbed data from more than one billion user accounts in Aug. 2013. Wow. This is seriously so scary! So what exactly did these hackers steal from all these people? The company admitted that important information such as users’ email addresses, phone numbers, birth dates, security questions and answers, and even their names were stolen! This is so horrible, and we can’t imagine for all of these Yahoo users must be feeling right now.

If you recall, the company actually faced ANOTHER hack in Sept. 2015, when 500 million accounts were exposed. But this time, they made it clear that the hacking that occurred in 2013 was totally separate from the one in 2016. Another downside to the new hack? It now raises numerous questions about whether Verizon, which has proposed a whopping $4.8 billion acquisition of Yahoo, will change the terms of its deal. For now, that is unclear, but we will continue to provide information as it develops.
