From the moment that the first of Michael Kors‘ models hit the runway for his Spring 2017 show, an enthusiasm for life and the future filled the room. That feeling was helped along in a big way by singer Rufus Wainwright and his band, who provided the live soundtrack to the show with old Hollywood hits like, “Zing! Went The Strings of My Heart.”
Rufus injected his singing with cheers of “Go, Hillary!” and the collection that the audience was thrilled to see spoke to a vision that Michael and Hillary Clinton both share of strong, self-confident women who feel comfortable expressing themselves.
Kors’ Spring collection is anything but shy and retiring. Instead, it showcased dramatically magnetic floral prints in poinsettia pink, tangerine, aquamarine, new-leaf green and azalea. Sunny flowers like shasta and gerbera daisies covered satin and silk georgette dresses, shirts, skirts and coats.
These are clothes for women who want to stand out and are not afraid to be seen as stylish. They are for women who want to break away from uniform dressing or fast, throwaway fashion. And, they are also for women who see hope, opportunity and love in the future. A future of coming together to be stronger.
In fact, Michael made his message loud and clear in his oversized sweaters emblazoned with the word “LOVE.” Well, love is the sentiment that women will feel when they see this irresistible collection, and for those who can’t wait to buy it, they can immediately go on to MichaelKors.com and buy 13 of the Spring 2017 pieces right away, or go to two of Michael’s Manhattan stores and shop away.
Rufus Wainwright closed the fabulous show with a rendition of Judy Garland’s “Get Happy” and it will be impossible for women not to feel happy when they look at and wear Michael Kors’ new collection.
