“The number one rule in Scientology is that celebrities get to break all the rules and if Isabella wanted to see her mom, then that’s fine,” Scientology expert Tony Ortega tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. This comes amid a new report that Isabella Cruise, 23, and her adoptive mom Nicole Kidman, 49, had an emotional meet-up in London just under a year after her daughter secretly tied the knot with British I.T. specialist Max Parker. The Aussie actress has been estranged from her two adoptive kids with Tom Cruise, 54, ever since their 2001 divorce, where she was labelled an SP, a “Suppressive person” who Scientologists are to avoid all contact with.
“Isabella did marry a non-Scientologist, and if it’s true that she saw her mom Nicole, I can understand why some people would look at her reunion as evidence that she’s edging away from the church. If she wasn’t a celebrity, she would probably not be allowed to see her mom who left the church, because she would be considered a suppressive person,” Tony continues.
“However, if you are a celebrity and a Scientologist, you are allowed to break these rules. Plus, Isabella is the daughter of Tom Cruise. She can pretty much do anything,” Tony adds, and in this case it means being able to stay in contact with her non-Scientologist mom.
According to a new report in Women’s Day Australia, Nicole and Isabella recently met up together in London. “‘It was a very emotional moment for all of them, especially Nicole,” a source told the magazine. ‘It didn’t take long for her to burst into tears, and Bella soon followed.” They added that, “Nic has been trying to build bridges with Bella since the start of the year,” the insider shared, before adding, “Nicole took an instant liking to Max and could see that he and Bella get on really well.” Awww, we hope Nic and Isabella are growing their previously estranged relationship.
HollywoodLifers, do you think it’s right that Scientologists are banned from contact with former members?
