That Hamilton spoof at the BET Awards was next-level! Especially when Tracee Ellis Ross, 43, started twerking on her co-host Anthony Anderson, 45, while rocking a colonial style ball gown! Not only that, but they found a way to work in some of the biggest hits of the year. We have all the details, right here!
We didn’t expect Tracee and Anthony to kick off the show with a Hamilton spoof, but it was so perfect! They took the general idea, dancing and costumes of the musical, and mixed it with some of the biggest hip hop and rap hits of the year. Plus a little bit of twerking from Tracee!
Tracee and Anthony looked amazing rocking colonial-style costumes that looked just as amazing as the ones from Hamilton! First, they jammed out toe “Cut It” by O.T. Genesis featuring Young Dolph, then “I Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weeknd and finally “Down In The DM” by Yo Gotti. There was also an appearance by Anthony Hamilton, thanks to a big misunderstanding.
But the best part for sure was right in the middle of the skit when Tracee lifted up her massive hoop skirt to show off her knickers and twerk on her Blackish co-star Anthony! It was hilarious, super-relevant, and such a perfect way to start the amazing night, which just kept getting better and better from there!
