Kimbo Slice passed away at the young age of 42, on June 6 after suffering heart failure. While the world knows Kimbo has the amazing MMA fighter who was gone far too soon, many don’t know the emotional details about his family, and the people he loved the most — a part of his life he kept mostly private.
1. Kimbo Slice has been in a long-time relationship with Antoinette Ray.
While some refer to Antoinette as Kimbo’s wife, others call her his fiancée, and others say long-time girlfriend. While we cannot confirm which is the cast, we know they have been together and were living together at the time of his passing in Coral Springs, South Florida.
2. Together, they have six children — three girls and three boys: Kevin Jr., Kevin II, Kevlar, Kassandra, Kiara, and Kevina.
3. Kimbo’s youngest son, Kevlar, has autism.
Bellator came out with an “In Focus” video about Kimbo’s life in 2015, featuring his youngest son; in the video, Kimbo revealed that he and his son train together every day. “You just want your offspring to be a little bit better than you were,” he said. “This is the reason why I continue to fight like a fight. For one reason– and that’s for them.”
4. His oldest son is an MMA fighter.
Kevin Ferguson, Jr. AKA “Baby Slice” decided to also become a fighter, winning his first fight in March 2016. He trains at Plus One Defense Systems in Connecticut and also went to school at the Academy of Arts in San Francisco, studying photography.
5. Family was number one for Kimbo.
“Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man,” Scott Coker, the president of Bellator, said in a statement. “His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans, and teammates.”
Our thoughts are with Kimbo and his family during this time.
