Preach, girl! Tia Mowry, 37, is sick and tired of body-shamers, and she put them in their place in the most perfect way: by declaring her happiness! The former Sister, Sister star said that no, she is not pregnant, and if she has gained any weight, she frankly doesn’t care because she is “happy with who I am”!
“I am not pregnant, I am just happy,” Tia, who is married to actor Cory Hardrict, 36, told HuffPost Live on Dec. 7. “I’ve gained these extra 10 [or] 15 pounds because of my cooking show… I’m just enjoying life and, when I want to drop the pounds, I will, but right now I’m happy with who I am.”
Though Tia is proud of who she is, she admitted that such toxicity around body and beauty standards is dangerous. “It is a form of body-shaming, I will say that, and it’s pretty unfortunate,” she said. “And the reason why I say that is because I think that we live in a society that is so obsessed with being perfect… Why can’t we just be us, you know?” We hear you, lady.
Believe it or not, this isn’t the first time Tia has had to speak out against body-bashers who have said that she’s pregnant. A few months ago, Tia took to her Instagram to post a (hilarious) photo of a pregnancy test and, where the results would be displayed, it simply read, “just fat.” “FYI. For all the people that think I’m pregnant. I’m NOT. Just enjoying life and eating and cooking some great food! Thanks:) again I repeat I AM NOT PREGNANT!” she captioned the pic. See it below.
What do you think of the way Tia is dealing with the haters?
