Points for Gryffindor? Not exactly. Daniel Radcliffe, 26, put to rest an embarrassing quote that seemed to indicate he had his “hands full” when he wasn’t shooting his scenes for Harry Potter. The Victor Frankenstein star clarified his comments, saying that he managed to keep his work and pleasure separate.
The problems began when Daniel gave an interview to Playboy in October. During the conversation, Daniel was asked that if, as a teen, did he ever masturbate while shooting the Harry Potter movies. Daniel’s reply?
“Yeah, I was like every other teenager in that sense,” Daniel told Playboy, according to MTV. “My favorite line about masturbation is Louis C.K.’s, something like, ‘I found out about it when I was 11, and I didn’t skip a day.’ I think I started very early — before my teens. But not when I was on set. I wasn’t going, ‘When is Alan Rickman going to nail this scene so I can run back to my trailer?'”
Despite what Daniel clearly said, so began the rumor of that untitled J.K. Rowling book, Harry Potter and Mastering the Elder Wand. Kidding! Still, Daniel wasn’t laughing when he found out that the Internet was having a blast over his comments. He decided to clarify himself. While he didn’t deny that he was like every teenage boy in the world, he did defend his professionalism. You can judge for yourself by buying the Harry Potter boxed set on Amazon.
“I didn’t say I wanked on set,” Daniel, told NME. “It’s frustrating when you tell a story and say, ‘Yes, I wanked a lot when I was a teenager,’ but clearly I didn’t mean on set.” Daniel’s frustration is understandable, since his quote was clear how he wasn’t expectroing his patronum when he wasn’t battling Snape or Voldemort.
Daniel wanted to leave no chance of the rumor continuing. “Can you make this clear for me,” he told the magazine. “I was not wanking during the filming of Potter. I managed to restrain myself until I got home.” Well, then. Points for Gryffindor, after all.
What do you think about this whole rumor about Harry getting happy on set, HollywoodLifers?
