Yay! Tig Notaro, 44, and her longtime girlfriend Stephanie Allynne have officially tied the knot, according to a new report. The happy couple, who have been dating since 2013, made things official with a star-studded ceremony in the comedian’s home state of Mississippi. True to form, Tig took to Twitter to share some news about her special day, including what she thought of the “wedding night sex.”
So exciting! After two years together, Tig and Stephanie, an actress and director, said their “I dos” in front of an A-list crowd on Oct. 24, Us Weekly confirms. The pair tied the knot in Tig’s hometown of Pass Christian, Miss., with their family and friends in attendance. Among the more famous guests on hand for the big day was Lucy Lawless, Lake Bell, Alicia Silverstone, Sarah Silverman and Jessica Williams.
Being the funny woman that she is, Tig decided to share some of the more intimate details of the wedding with her fans. Taking to Twitter, Tig wrote this of her nuptials: “I’m getting married today. My only fear is that instead of ‘I do’ I’ll say ‘I do do.'” She also quipped, “Everyone at my wedding reception danced like I was watching,” and later added, “Wedding night sex is better than regular sex cause you finally have an excuse to not have it.” What can we say, she’s most definitely not afraid to tell it like it is!
Tig (born Mathilde O’Callaghan) and Stephanie got engaged on New Year’s Day of this year. The couple originally met on the set of In a World, and were good friends until things finally escalated. The documentary Tig, which chronicles the comedian’s battle with cancer and fertility issues, follows much of their relationship, giving fans a peek inside their romantic life. We’re so happy for these two!
