Oh no! Burt Reynolds has everyone scared for his well-being! The 79-year old Hollywood icon, who gave us classic movies like Cannonball Run, Smokey and the Bandit and Sharky’s Machine, appeared unusually thin during a rare public appearance. The former sex symbol’s appearance was so startling, it left fans wondering if everything was okay!
People barely recognized Burt when he showed up at Philadelphia’s Wizard World Comic Con on May 10. The Smokey and the Bandit star appeared so fragile, and even had to get around with help from a cane. Yikes!
He was on hand to promote his upcoming memoir, But Enough About Me, reports People magazine. Burt’s forthcoming book will focus more on the actors and personalities he’s dealt with over his incredible career.
“I got along great with 98 percent of them, and a few of them I didn’t like at all,” Reynolds told the Philly Inquirer. “When you write a book like this, you have to tell the whole thing, and there are days when everything isn’t wonderful and there were people who I thought were asses.”
It seems that Burt still has some fire in him. We can’t wait to read it. And, despite how he looked, Burt seemed okay. He still was very stylish, rocking a black blazer, ruby-tinted glasses and his trademark devilish look in his eye.
Still — we hope everything’s okay with you, Bandit!
Burt broke out in Hollywood with 1972’s Deliverance. After that, Burt had a slew of hit movies in the following decades, like Smokey and the Bandit, The Longest Yard, The Cannonball Run, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas and Heat. He also starred in family-friendly pictures, voicing the character Charlie in 1989’s All Dogs Go To Heaven and starring in 1993’s Cop and a Half. Arguably, Burt’s biggest accomplishment came when won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor in 1997’s Boogie Nights.
What do you think about Burt’s appearance, HollywoodLifers? Shocking, or looking good for his age?
