‘Revenge’ Recap: [SPOILER] Dies After Discovering A Huge Secret

On the penultimate episode of ‘Revenge,’ Amanda goes on a quest to prove that Victoria’s still alive, but when she’s put behind bars for the second time, someone tries finishing what she started. Unfortunately, this person gets killed in the process.

Revenge is certainly gearing up to go out with a bang! On the May 3 episode (the second-to-last), Amanda Clarke (Emily VanCamp) desperately tried proving that Victoria Grayson’s (Madeleine Stowe) alive. Is she? Was Amanda right all along? Find that out and so much more!

‘Revenge’: Victoria’s Alive & Ben Dies — Season 4 Episode 22 Recap

Yes, Victoria’s alive!

But before Ben (Brian Hallisay), who discovered the truth, could tell anyone, Courtney Love stabbed him! OK, so Courtney Love is playing a character, and due to Instagram’s time constraints on videos, I was unable to record her. But she totally stabbed and killed Ben before she said, “Never go to Jersey on business.” (Noted!)

Might we remind you that HollywoodLife.com‘s very own Weekend Editor, Avery Thompson, claimed that Victoria wasn’t really dead — weeks ago!

We can imagine this is hard to process — it is for us, too — but let’s go back a bit so I can explain how we got to this point.

Amanda Clarke Goes On A Quest To Prove Victoria Grayson’s Alive

The episode started with Amanda’s bail hearing. The judge granted her $2 million bail as long as she stayed on house arrest. But of course, Amanda’s not one to stay cooped up.  Instead, Nolan (Gabriel Mann) created a duplicate ankle bracelet and somehow transferred the signal from the real one to the fake one. Amanda stuck the fake one (with the signal) on David’s (James Tupper) arm and set out to find Mason Treadwell (Roger Bart). Ben, who assigned himself to Amanda’s case, soon found out that she flew the coop. Amanda was busy snooping around a trailer park that Mason seemed to be hiding in when cops swarmed the area and arrested her again. This was after Amanda talked to some neighbors in the trailer park and found out that a man, who she assumed was Mason, left in a hurry with a “regal”-looking “lady friend.”

Amanda assumed this “lady friend” was Victoria, and that alone, intensified her need to prove that Victoria’s alive. She tried convincing Ben, but he thought she was crazy until Louise (Elena Satine) found a black jacket hidden in Victoria’s penthouse. It was the same black jacket that Victoria’s “attacker” wore. Based on Amanda’s theory, Margaux (Karine Vanasse) was the one who attacked Victoria and they made it look like Amanda did it. It was all part of Victoria’s plan to take Amanda down.

Ben then went on a quest of his own, to prove Amanda’s theory. He went to the coroner to examine the body Amanda claimed Victoria used in her fake suicide/murder. When the body was found missing, Ben went to the dead woman’s house. Once he broke inside, he heard the bath water running. He started walking down the hall when all of a sudden, Victoria walked out of the bathroom! But no more than five seconds after he said, “Son a bitch. You are alive,” he was stabbed — by Courtney Love! Victoria looked shocked, so we’re not sure if she’s being held captive or if she didn’t expect one of her partners in crime to actually kill someone.

Other Notable Moments

While much of the focus this week was on the truth behind Victoria’s suicide/murder, Amanda also confessed to Jack (Nick Wechsler) that she wants him to stay in the Hamptons. (FINALLY!) The moment didn’t last long — she was soon whisked away by Nolan, but they lovingly held hands for a few seconds. And as Amanda walked away, Jack had a HUGE smile on his face. It. Was. Everything.

Oh, and David revealed that he only has six months to live, as his cancer has spread to his brain. (Bummer?) Forgive me if I don’t care that much, but wasn’t the show more interesting when he was dead? And can we address how Madeleine Stowe totally lied to everyone?

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Were you shocked to find out Victoria’s alive? Vote in our poll and tell us how you feel!
