Being an adult comes with a lot of responsibilities, as Kylie Jenner, 17, finds out from her big sisters Kim, 34, Khloe Kardashian, 30, on May 3’s Keeping Up With the Kardashians. While not every 17-year-old buys themselves a $2.7 million house, Kylie believes she’s up for it. However, Kim and Khloe remind her that there’s a ton of things she takes advantage of while living under her family’s roof — and they send her off with a detailed list of things she’ll have to do on her own!
It’s hard when the youngest of the family grows up and becomes independent enough to buy a house. That’s exactly how Kim and Khloe are feeling as they watch Kylie trying to make the big transition! But there’s a ton of stuff they need to educate her on, first.
Kim tells Kylie there’s “things that you need to think about,” while Khloe adds she should “take notes.” Kylie sits their patiently while listening to what her sisters have to say, seemingly unaffected — at first.
Kim starts with earthquake insurance, saying that since they live in California it’s a must. Khloe also adds flood and fire insurance to the list of things she’ll need to get.
“Homeowners association fees… could be like a thousand bucks a month,” Kim says to Kylie, who grows visibly overwhelmed. They list more precautions about owning a home including installing rattlesnake fencing, finding a good gardner, and setting up electricity. Poor Kylie is just taking it all in!
“Kim and Khloe have made me aware that it’s a little tough to own a home and I really hope I’m not in over my head,” Kylie tells the cameras in an interview.
Kylie’s big sisters also make her aware that she can’t expect Kris Jenner to help out with everything now that she’ll be a legal adult come August. Oh no!
“There’s a lot more we can add, but I think it’s really important that you start to do those things and realize the responsibilities of having a house,” Kim says, while handing Kylie a list of things to do.
Well, at least Kylie can lean on her big sisters for support — even if they do give her some tough love!
