‘Grey’s Anatomy’: Meredith Runs Away & Secretly Has A Baby After Derek’s Death

Meredith walks in the room and looks the understandable amount of shocked and devastated. She observes her friends for a few moments, seemingly knowing full well that she is about to change their lives for the worse. “Derek is dead,” she manages to quietly say.

When no one hears her, she attempts again, then once more but to no avail. Finally, mustering strength, she says clearly, “Derek is dead.” This time, the room falls silent and time basically stands still.

Fans Say Goodbye To Derek

Fans of the long running medical series are still very much struggling to accept the death of fan favorite Derek, who was one half of the series’ central couple alongside Meredith.

In a statement, series creator Shonda Rhimes explained how the show will be different without McDreamy. “His loss will be felt by all. Now, Meredith and the entire Grey’s Anatomyn family are about to enter uncharted territory as we head into this new chapter of her life. The possibilities for what may come are endless. As Ellis Grey would say: the carousel never stops turning.”
