Kim Kardashian, 33, and Kanye West, 36, married on May 24 in Florence, Italy, atop the Forte di Belvedere, and her stepfather, Bruce Jenner, 64, walked her down the aisle, as confirmed by E! News. And just to keep their walk from being too pedestrian (get it?), Andrea Bocelli performed as Kim made her way to Kanye at the altar. How sweet is that?
Bruce and Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner, have been married since April 1991, when Kim was just 10 years old. Despite he and Kris having separated in Oct. 2013, the whole family is still really close to Bruce, and Kim and the other Kardashian siblings have often said that Bruce is like a second father. Therefore, it’s great to see that Bruce was fulfilling the father role on Kim’s big day!
As this isn’t Kim’s first marriage, this isn’t Bruce’s first time giving her away. Bruce walked Kim down the aisle on August 20 for her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries, but she eloped for her marriage to Damon Thomas in 2000 when she was just 19.
However, that said, we’re sure that this marriage will stick; Kim and Kanye are basically perfect together — no cynicism, we swear!
While Bruce was at the wedding, his son, Brody Jenner, was not. Brody is upset that Kimye wouldn’t let him invite Kaitlynn Carter, his girlfriend of seven months, to her wedding to Kanye. Will Bruce walking Kim down the aisle create a rift between him and his son?
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? Did you expect that Bruce would walk Kim down the aisle? Or were you worried that there might be family tension?
