Amy Adamle & Zach Sobiech: Their Love Revealed

During the interview, Amy revealed to Katie Couric how she and Zach fell in love:

We were friends for about a year before we started dating so I knew what an amazing person he was and we just loved being around each other. So when it blossomed into something more it didn’t really seem to matter that it would be shorter because any time I got to spend with him was amazing and we always found something fun to do or just be happy with each other.

Zach Sobiech Wanted To Be Able To Say A ‘Proper Goodbye’

Also during the show, Zach’s mom Laura Sobiech revealed her son’s final “brave moments” before he died from osteosarcoma on May 20. Laura revealed that what Zach wanted more than anything was to be able to say a proper goodbye.

He was at home, Amy (Zach’s girlfriend) had stayed over late that night. Myself and Amy slept in the same room as him. He had a very difficult hour and a half; the cancer had filled his lungs and his lungs had filled with fluid so he essentially suffocated, and that is not an easy way to die, but that was the way he wanted to die. He wanted to be conscious and he was. As hard as those memories are to be there while he suffered so much, we’re so blessed because we were there — we were all there.
