Glee is really upping the shock factor this season. After the scandalous school shooting episode, the April 25 show saw the kids of McKinley High do their best acoustic performances when the power went down in Lima, OH. And when the lights went out, Ryder (Blake Jenner) and Kitty (Becca Tobin) both revealed disturbing and shocking secrets that have left them scarred.
For anyone who has been keeping up with Glee, they will know that Ryder has been the victim of a creepy Catfish style hoax, and it’s clear that he has trouble trusting girls.
And now we know why…
“When I was 11, I was molested by my babysitter,” Ryder says. “It kind of messed me up a bit,” he said. “I think I have trouble trusting girls because of it.”
Ryder’s shocking confession does not get the reaction he expects, as the other guys just congratulate him for getting female attention from a hot older girl. So awful.
However he finds comfort in Kitty, who reveals that she was molested by a friend’s older brother at a sleepover. No one believed her, so she had to change schools.
Glee has become so dark! First domestic violence, then a school shooting and now child molestation? What happened to the days when the biggest tragedy was when Rachel (Lea Michele) didn’t get the solo she wanted?
Meanwhile in New York, Kurt (Chris Colfer) was reunited with Isabelle Wright (Sarah Jessica Parker), but not before he and Rachel tell Santana (Naya Rivera) that she needs a better plan for her life than go-go dancing at a lesbian bar.
After they all sing a song from A Chorus Line at the New York Ballet, Santana decides that she wants to be a ballerina, so she starts to attend free dance classes at NYADA.
Finally the ultimate villain Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) returns to McKinley High after Blaine (Darren Criss) tracks her down working at a gym. Becky begs Sue to come back and coach the Cheerios, but Sue refuses. Becky then goes to Figgins’s office — will she confess to the shooting?
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Was this episode too dark?
