After attending a One Direction concert on March 20 in Nottingham, Troy Austin expressed his interest in healing the rift between him and his son Louis Tomlinson. However, Troy revealed this information to The Mirror, which didn’t thrill Louis.
“I’d like to start off the day by saying a big f*** you to ‘the mirror’ :) on a happier note huge love to all out fans, you keep us going!!” Louis tweeted on March 24.
Troy and daughter Georgia, 14, (Louis’ half-sister) attended One Direction’s Nottingham concert on March 20, but were barred from seeing Louis backstage. They were told the band had to “rush off.”
Troy and Louis have been estranged since he split from the One Direction-er’s mom Johanna, 40, when Louis was 2. Now, at 21-years-old, Louis has only seen his father a handful of times over the last 19 years. They recently reconnected after Louis’ audition on The X Factor, but the reunion didn’t stick.
“I haven’t been there for most of his life, so I understand I’m not one of his main priorities. He knows we were in the crowd [on March 20] and now I want to tell him what it meant to me to see him up there. I cried buckets. I thought the best concerts I’d ever been to were U2 and The Waterboys, but not any more,” Troy told The Mirror.
Troy now runs a hotel and has pictures of Louis and One Direction on all the walls. He hopes to heal the rift between him and his son.
“I love him to bits… I just hope he knows it,” Troy added.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Louis reunite with his estranged father?
