Cooking Tips

The biggest meal of the year can be stressful, but it doesn’t have to be!

Darnell Ferguson, winner of Giada De Laurentis' Ultimate Thanksgiving Challenge, has 5 tips to make your Thanksgiving meal memorable, without too much extra work.

Change Up The Turkey

"I love barbecue, and I love Chinese food, so I just combined them and used  a marinade called char siu."

Only Use Turkey Breasts

It cooks twice as fast. You can wake up in the morning and put the turkey in the oven. (Sorry dark meat fans!)

Prepare Everything The Day Before

"When people are stressing out on Thanksgiving, they try to do everything that morning. Whereas, I wake up whenever I want to, and  just throw everything in the oven."

Have a Cocktail Hour

Create some good cocktails and some small bites people can  eat, while you’re working in the kitchen. It takes the pressure off  dinner.

Have GOOD Cocktails

"I feel like when you have something that takes the focus off the food, you’re good to go and most people don’t have cocktails at their dinners."
