Chef Ming Tsai, Celebrity Chef and founder of MingsBings has a great recipe to share for a sauce to make for your Chinese New Year treats!

“One of my favorite ways to celebrate New Year's is to serve dumplings because they are made the day before and are consumed on New Year’s Day.” 

Here’s his recipe for a Spicy Hoisin Lemon Sauce

First, lightly coat a sauté pan with some oil. We’re making this sauce with heat!

Add garlic, ginger and scallion whites (tablespoon of each) and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Now that you’re cooking, add 1 cup of hoisin and 1 tablespoon sambal, garlic chili crisp, or your favorite hot sauce & cook until it simmers.

Add the juice and zest of one lemon and let it cool.

Now dunk those dumplings – and enjoy! Happy Chinese New Year!
