The CW drama is running an attack ad against the ABC Family hit — but ‘A’ isn’t going down without a fight. Which show will YOU watch live tonight?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve been dreading this day for weeks. Beginning tonight, two of my favorite shows — ABC Family’s Pretty Little Liars and The CW’s The Originals — will both be broadcast at 8 p.m. ET, a phenomenon that hasn’t occurred since PLL‘s Halloween episode aired in Oct. 2013.

Looks aren’t everything, but they certainly don’t hurt, especially when it comes to our favorite TV shows. As the end of 2013 approaches, HollywoodLife.com is reflecting on the guys that had us swooning in our living rooms all year long, from the superheroes to the pirates to the vampires — and yes, there were a lot of vampires.
Do you think ‘Klaroline’ deserves to be called the year’s top pair? Read about the results, then weigh in with your thoughts.
We asked, you responded, and after more than 1.2 million individual votes, you’ve selected The Vampire Diaries‘ Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice Accola) as HollywoodLife.com‘s hottest TV couple of 2013. This is especially impressive when you consider that “Klaroline” isn’t even technically a couple — each half of the ship is currently on a different show — but it only goes to show the tenacity of the fandom, and its desire to see the star-crossed lovers reunite.
Klaroline, Olicity or VinCat? We’re down to the year’s top three TV couples!
Shippers, you never cease to amaze us. HollywoodLife.com fully intended to narrow our “Top TV Couples of 2013” down to the final two today, but after counting more than 530,000 votes, we just couldn’t do it. The leading couples from Arrow, The Vampire Diaries and Beauty & The Beast were so neck-and-neck that we decided to include all three in the semifinals.
New ruler, new rules! Things are never going to be the same in the Big Easy.
What’s the only thing more messed up than a dinner party hosted by The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? Why, one hosted by Klaus (Joseph Morgan), of course! With his not-so-loyal subjects on either side of him, King Klaus waged war on New Orleans’ entire werewolf population on the Dec. 3 episode of The Originals — and as you can imagine, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) didn’t exactly raise her glass to that toast.
In a cruel twist of irony, Klaus finally regained the home he’s wanted for centuries — only to be more divided from his own family than ever before.
Marcel’s (Charles Michael Davis) issues with Klaus (Joseph Morgan) escalated to an all-out war on the Nov. 26 episode of The Originals, forcing Rebekah (Claire Holt) to finally choose a side. Unfortunately for Vampire Barbie, she apparently chose wrong, as her brother was able to decimate Marcel’s li’l army without even breaking a sweat. Long live the king!

Love can be fickle, especially when you’re talking about TV couples. We’ve seen so many breakups and shakeups in recent months, it’s hard to keep track, so HollywoodLife.com combed through our favorite shows and plucked out the 10 couples we’re hoping to see shack up ASAP.
Mr. Mikaelson is racking up some serious frequent flier miles! But what’s bringing him back to ‘The Vampire Diaries’?
Just when we started to get used to seeing Tyler (Michael Trevino) in the Big Easy, another Vampire Diaries/Originals crossover is reportedly on the way! Joseph Morgan‘s villain-ish Klaus will return to Mystic Falls before the show’s fifth season ends, TVGuide.com reports, though further details about his visit are being kept under wraps for now.
Plus, with Klaus quickly losing allies, the battle for the Big Easy tips dramatically in Marcel’s favor.
After watching the Nov. 12 episode of The Originals, I will never look at Tyler Lockwood (Michael Trevino) the same way again. Is he a good guy? A bad guy? Some sort of angsty, hybrid anti-hero? That’s all up for debate, but one thing isn’t: His revenge mission to New Orleans was a failure, and it turned everyone’s lives completely upside down. So… thanks for nothing, bro!
The battle for New Orleans thickened on this week’s ‘Originals,’ and all of the drama seemed to revolve around Hayley.
I know I say that every episode of The Originals is the craziest one ever, but seriously, the Nov. 5 episode was actually the craziest. Ever. Not only did the gang finally break the bond between Sophie (Daniella Pineda) and Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin), but a major death turned the tide of the ongoing war in New Orleans — and Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) may be getting the last laugh, after all!
When news broke that ‘Vampire Diaries’ hunk Michael Trevino was leaving Mystic Falls for the slightly-less-green pastures of New Orleans, we were honestly relieved. Tyler’s time as Caroline’s beau was clearly coming to an end, and we all knew Tyler wouldn’t rest until Klaus was brought to justice for killing Tyler’s mother.
Luckily, the good news doesn’t stop there! HollywoodLife.com attended a screening of The Originals in Los Angeles on Nov. 4, and executive producer Julie Plec confirmed that Michael Trevino‘s big move — which will likely happen before the end of November — will answer many of the burning questions currently posed on The Originals. (And, of course, add a million more!)
The 2014 People’s Choice Awards nominations were announced Nov. 5, and with fan-favorites like Nina Dobrev, Ian Somerhalder, Lucy Hale & Lea Michele all racking up nominations, our heads are spinning!
The People’s Choice Awards has always been one of the stand-out fun awards show offerings, but this year’s ceremony is looking to be a bloodbath. Jared Padalecki vs. Jensen Ackles vs. Stephen Amell vs. Ian Somerhalder vs. Andrew Lincoln? Pretty Little Liars vs. The Walking Dead? (How does one even vote on that?) At least no matter who wins, it’s somebody we like, right? (Wrong. So wrong. This is huge!)
Michael Trevino confirms that Tyler will make good on his promise to take down Klaus.
A bridge is finally being built between The Vampire Diaries and The Originals — and it’s being built using Tyler Lock-wood. Michael Trevino has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that everyone’s favorite former hybrid will be the first TVD character, besides Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) and the Mikaelsons, to pay a visit to the Big Easy.
After this week’s twisted hour, we’ll never look at a ‘harvest’ moon the same way.
When Danielle Campbell told HollywoodLife.com that viewers were “going to feel for Davina” after the Oct. 29 episode of The Originals, she wasn’t kidding! We’ve always known things were tense between the witches of the Big Easy, and after this week’s series of revelations, we finally know why.
Danielle tells HollywoodLife.com that the Oct. 28 episode will give fans a ‘true understanding of why Davina is the way she is.’
Teen-witch Davina (Danielle Campbell) currently holds the titles of smallest, most powerful and most mysterious character on The Originals — but at least that last one will soon fade away, as the Oct. 28 episode answers pretty much any question you could possibly have about Davina’s backstory. HollywoodLife.com chatted with Davina about the eye-opening hour, as well as Davina’s future with Tim (Shane Coffey) and her brewing war with the witches. (Pun intended.)
