We’re super excited about the new movie ‘The Land,’ which is making it’s debut at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival. The flick is so much more than a just another youth skateboarding film!
The Land is about four inner city kids in Cleveland who develop a passion for skateboarding, but get involved with dealing drugs to support their sport, as well as escape from their troubled lives at home. Director Steven Caple explained that he got the idea for the film from two kids in Los Angeles who were dealing drugs to support their own dreams. He assembled a super talented young cast but also brought in the legendary Erykah Badu for some star power. The singer she claims she’s playing the “neighborhood ‘ho” and was happy to have the role.
