The designers have to craft a red carpet look in less than a day — but it quickly turns into a red carpet nightmare!
The designers are swept away from New York City to QVC’s headquarters in Westchester, PA — via helicopter no less! Upon arriving, they are greeted by host and QVC correspondent Lisa Robertson. She asks them to design a gown for her that looks just as good on camera as it does in person, and will allow her to move freely during red carpet interviews. The winning look will be worn by her in a live broadcast, and a version of the dress will be sold on QVC — what a great prize this week! After a quick tour of the studios, the designers are left to sketch and then fly back to New York. As the designers figure out their gowns, they all seem to be creating the same silhouette: a fitted mermaid gown. Let’s hope they find a way to break the mold!
In this exciting episode, the designers are taken for a ride as they are assigned with a task to craft a dress for Marge Simpson to wear! Keep reading for our recap of ‘Project Runway All Stars’ season three episode six!
It looks like the designers are making their way through the TV networks! First, with last week’s Bonnie & Clyde-inspired challenge, and now Fox’s 25th anniversary of The Simpsons! Marge herself asks the designers to come up with a dress for her to wear on a special date with her husband Homer- even joking that the restaurant will have real waiter service, and not a cafeteria! She tells them she wants to look sexy for her date and asks that the dress not be green, and easy to remove for a late night “dessert” with Homer. Alyssa Milano tells the designers that the winning look will be worn by Marge in a future episode of The Simpsons.
This week the designers paired up and travelled back in time to the 1930s, using ‘Bonnie and Clyde’ for their inspiration. Keep reading for what host Alyssa Milano called “the best runway show yet,” and our recap of ‘Project Runway All Stars’ season three, episode five!
With Lifetime’s new mini-series Bonnie and Clyde hitting the network soon, the designers were greeted by two of the show’s cast-members, Holliday Grainger and Modern Family‘s Sarah Hyland! The designers are asked to work with a “partner in crime” and design an updated 1930s look for a couple like Bonnie and Clyde. The looks must relate to one another, but each designer’s outfit will be judged separately — will the designers get along okay??
The designers channel their inner kid as they use school supplies for the unconventional challenge! Keep reading for our recap of ‘Project Runway All Stars.’
This week the designers take a big yellow school bus to P.S. 212, a fine arts elementary school in New York. They are greeted by Alyssa who presents them with the famous unconventional challenge! She urges the designers to embrace their playfulness by using materials found in a typical classroom. They get a backpack and four minutes to stuff as many things as they can in to the bag to take with them. After a chaotic four minutes of grabbing rulers, jump ropes, and other supplies, they take their sketches back to the workroom to begin on their designs.
This week the designers toast their way into the challenge — but don’t think a cocktail makes this week any easier! Read on for our recap of ‘Project Runway All Stars’ Season 3 Episode 3!
The designers are told they have the night off and are invited to spend their evening at Jay-Z‘s hot club, 40/40. But their hopes of relaxing for one night are diminished when they are met by Alyssa Milano! Jeffrey jokes, “I know she’s not here to just chill with us.” Boy is he right. Alyssa tells them that the 40/40 club has a variety of signature cocktails, nine of which they will pick from and use as the inspiration for, (but of course!), the perfect cocktail dress. And this week the designers get a smaller budget of only $100. We can’t wait to see what the designers come up with!
