This is just awesome. ‘Entertainment Weekly’ has just released the cover for their upcoming LGBT issue– their first in 15 years– and the cover star is none other than Laverne Cox, looking more gorgeous than ever, but duh.
For those who don’t know, June is LGBT Pride Month, and Entertainment Weekly is celebrating in a momentous manner: their June 19th cover, which will hit newsstands on June 12, features Orange is the New Black actress and transgender star, Laverne Cox. Laverne, 31, has gained acclaim for playing the lovable prison beautician, Sophia, on Orange, but it’s her contribution to the trans community which have made Laverne an icon. Check out what Laverne has to say about that lofty status, as well as her thoughts on Caitlyn Jenner!
Piper Chapman, is that you? Prior to the big return of their series ‘Orange is the New Black,’ Taylor Schilling and Laura Prepon are gracing the cover of ‘Rolling Stone’– and the pictures are so hot the ladies could be arrested (bad pun, but it’s true)!

While we can really have no clue what’s in store for Piper (Taylor Schilling), Alex (Laura Prepon) and the rest of the women serving their time at Litchfield Penitentiary, we do know that the leading lady and her leading heartache– well, their offscreen counterparts, anyway– have graced the new issue of Rolling Stone. Lupita Nyong’o, like us, is obsessed with ‘Orange Is The New Black.’ Does that mean we’ll be seeing her on the Netflix series in the near future? According to star Taryn Manning, it’s a strong possibility!
Lupita Nyong’o gushed over the cast of Orange Is The New Black while attending Essence magazine’s annual Black Women in Hollywood Awards earlier this month. Clearly, she’s a big fan of the show. But this just makes us wonder if she’ll be guest starring on the Netflix series sometime soon. After all, she is one of the most sough after actresses in Hollywood right now. The online streaming service would be nuts not to cast her in a role! Well, Taryn Manning, who plays Tiffany “Pennsatucky” Doggett on the hit show, teased the idea, saying “you never know who’s coming into jail!”
It seems like orange will be the old black for some on the Netflix series ‘Orange is the New Black’ (see what we did there?). With production of the new season underway, it’s just been announced that a series regular will not be returning– and you might be happy about it!
Oh Larry (Jason Biggs), we hardly knew ya. Actually, that’s false.
