The Sex and the City 2 star says the term “cougar” is “derogatory!” Do you agree?
Kim Cattrall‘s character Samantha Jones may find herself in the arms of younger men — but don’t call her a cougar! Kim is so against the term “cougar” that she even turned down a photoshoot for a magazine that would have found her posing on the cover with a real-live cougar. “I just felt it was very derogatory,” she told the Today Show‘s Meredith Vieira on May 23. “I feel there is nothing predatory about a woman of a certain age. The stereotype is that the woman is searching for young men like they’re prey, and I just don’t think that’s good enough. We’ve gotten way past that, and to marginalize [Samantha] to a cougar, I don’t agree with it.”
Sorry, Holly, but you didn’t stand a chance against the power of “Bret-mania!”
After eleven weeks of fundraising, firing and feuding, Bret Michaels was finally named The Celebrity Apprentice during the show’s live season finale May 23 — and he deserved it! Runner-up Holly Robinson Peete was a worthy adversary, but if you look back at his achievements throughout the season, you can’t deny he was the stronger competitor. Donald Trump (and all you voters, of course) definitely made the right decision.
Did Bret Michaels Deserve to win “Celebrity Apprentice?”
Girls, if you can sit through the movie’s 100 minutes of explosions and crazy filthy jokes, you’ll earn MAJOR points with your boyfriends!
Make no mistake about it — MacGruber earns its R-rating. The blood splatter is plentiful, the dialogue is unimaginably crude, and if you have any moral objection to a grown man parading around pantsless with a stalk of celery wedged up his butt, then God help you. This movie is awesome. Read more
Now that Bret is fighting for his life, can you honestly say you don’t want him to win Celebrity Apprentice?
Bret Michaels‘ team, Rocksolid, got kicked around pretty hard on The Celebrity Apprentice last week — but they finally made a comeback on last night’s episode, winning Donald Trump‘s challenge and banking $40,000 for Bret’s charity of choice, the American Diabetes Association. But it was so bittersweet watching Bret celebrate his victory, knowing that he’s presently in the hospital under 24/7 doctor surveillance after suffering a debilitating brain hemorrhage. I don’t know about the rest of you, but Bret’s condition has definitely made me his #1 fan. Read more & vote!

She messed up a bunch of her lines & just wasn’t very funny.
Remember when I said I thought Gabourey Sidibe would surprise us all and be really funny as a Saturday Night Live host? As it turns out, I couldn’t have been more wrong. Most of Gabby’s scenes throughout the episode were awkward and generally laugh-free. And don’t try to blame her lackluster performance on the bad writing — she also tripped over a bunch of her words! Laughing in the middle of a scene is one thing (I’m looking at you, Jimmy Fallon) because at least the audience has a chance to laugh along with the actors… but when someone in a scene obviously trips over their dialogue and has to correct themselves, it pretty much kills it for me. Jay Leno confesses he was heartbroken when NBC said they were giving “The Tonight Show” to Conan O’Brien. Plus: “I never expected this to happen.”
The former and soon to be host of The Tonight Show, Jay Leno, went on The Oprah Show today to discuss the NBC debacle that took him off the late night show he hosted for 15 years, only to give it back to him the other week.
Jay — who seemed so business like and matter of fact — says that when NBC went to him in 2004 and said they would replace him with Conan O’Brien in five years, “It broke my heart. I was really devastated. I always assumed that as long as you keep your show number one, you will be number one.”
Jay appealed to the millions of viewers who turned against him when Conan, who came on to host The Tonight Show, was then asked to push the show back an hour when his ratings were poor. “I never expected this to happen,” Jay said of NBC offering him The Tonight Show back. Read more
Hey BFFs, did you give any money during the huge telethon?
Can we all take a minute to give George Clooney a huge round of applause? The star-studded Haitian relief telethon he put together, Hope For Haiti Now, was a huge success! More than $57 million was raised, according to telethon organizers, and that number just continues to climb as even more donations are pouring in. Lisa Paulsen, president and CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, the group overseeing the event’s funds, released this statement: “The public has set a new standard of giving for a relief telethon with ‘Hope for Haiti Now,’ and the donations continue to come in.” Read more
Were you shocked by any SAG Award winners?
We weren’t! Aside from the incredible tribute to Betty White, The 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony played out almost identically to last weekend’s Golden Globes. It was basically round two for repeat winners like Jeff Bridges, Sandra Bullock, Mo’Nique and Drew Barrymore — though at least Drew seemed considerably more flustered with her SAG acceptance speech than she was at the Globes. Click here to see all the winners!
Were you satisfied with Conan’s toned-down goodbye?
Before ending his final episode of the Tonight Show with an outrageous musical performance with Will Ferrell, host Conan O’Brien addressed the audience with a heartfelt message, thanking everyone for their support during his seven months on the air. “Walking away from the Tonight Show is the hardest thing I have ever had to do,” he said Jan. 23. “Every comedian dreams of hosting the Tonight Show and, for seven months, I got to. I did it my way, with people I love, and I do not regret a second.” In a sudden change of tone, Conan also had very nice things to say about his complicated relationship with NBC. Read more & vote!
