Lee DeWyze took his ‘Disney freak’ fiancée to the perfect place to pop the question — Disney World!
In case 2010 American Idol winner Lee DeWyze‘s year hasn’t been exciting enough, the singer, 25, is now engaged to model/actress Jonna Walsh, 26. Somehow, Lee managed to make the most magical place on earth, Disney World in Orlando, Fla. , even more magical by popping the question on a private yacht under the park’s fireworks show July 16!
While in the audience for last night’s American Idol, I saw who the judges like the most and who doesn’t like the judges! Plus, I now have a man crush on the Black Eyed Peas!
The reigning American Idol champ unveiled his video for the first single off his debut album Nov. 16. Do YOU think the Idol everyman missed the mark or hit a homerun?
First comes the confetti shower, then comes the tour, and finally…here comes the album! American Idol season nine champ Lee DeWyze released his album Live it Up today, but not before charming the pants off a cute girl in the video for his first single “Sweet Serendipity.”
The Season 9 contestants react to the shift in the judging panel but remain sure the show will go on!
Next season’s judging panel for American Idol may be up in the air, with Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, and Kara DioGuardi out, rumored to be replaced by names including Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Jessica Simpson, but last season’s contestants feel like the show will go on no matter what! Former contestant Lee DeWyze told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, “I don’t think anyone is going to ruin the show, the show is going to be successful as long as people are doing there own thing and not trying to copy anyone else, they’ll be fine.” And everyone else seems to agree!
Season nine winner Lee gets by with a little help — and a lot of advice — from his Idol friends. But what have they told him?
Lee DeWyze was humbled and awed to find himself in the presence of so many former American Idol winners during his finale party May 26, so much so that he’s raving about the night two days later! But who impressed the season 9 winner the most?
We told you that Lee, 24, cozied up to season 4 winner Carrie Underwood at the bash, held at the Mondrian Hotel’s Skybar in LA, and we were right! “I saw Carrie a little bit at the Idol party and she was so supportive!” the Mt. Prospect, Ill. native enthused during a May 28 conference call. “She said, ‘Anything you need, let me know.’ She was awesome.”
Although music is her first love, American Idol’s season 9 runner up says movies are definitely in her future!
Crystal Bowersox has a lot on her plate now that American Idol has wrapped, including taking care of her young son, cutting a record, dealing with a break-up. But that won’t stop her from getting into the movie biz if she’s asked!
“Drama was my very first love before music when I was young, and I’m open to doing something like that, yeah!” the 24-year-old Elliston, Ohio native told HollywoodLife.com exclusively during an Idol conference call May 28 when we told her that director Adam Shankman wanted she and winner Lee DeWyze to audition for the Rock of Ages movie.
Mama Sox was robbed last night – but even she had a feeling that her ‘musical crush’ Lee DeWyze was going to walk away with the top prize this season on American Idol
I am beyond disappointed by the American Idol season finale May 26, if only for the reason that my girl Crystal Bowersox lost by a 2% margin. TWO PERCENT. Highway robbery! That said, I suspected all along that Lee DeWyze might steal her glory and apparently, so did she.Read more
In tonight’s season finale battle, our very own Idol judge thinks Lee will best Crystal Bowersox. Who do YOU think will win?
Blake Lewis hasn’t always been the biggest fan of Lee DeWyze but, regardless, thinks the 24-year-old Illinois native is going to take home the top prize on Idol tonight!
“I think Lee will [win],” the 28-year-old season six runner-up tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, despite admitting that Crystal Bowersox, also 24, had the best performance of the night May 25.
What else did our very own American Idol judge think of the season 9 finale show? Take it away, Blake!
American Idol’s sexy blond rocker was well aware that there would be a Lee/Crystal showdown during the season finale!
Casey James knew what America was thinking this week — it was his time to go home!
“I’ve been prepared at every single round from the beginning of the show, because you never know,” the 27-year-old Texan said May 21 during an American Idol conference call. “What will be, will be, and you have to be prepared either way. I kind of knew this was coming, so I was more than prepared [Wednesday] night.”
Our own American Idol judge was NOT impressed by any of the remaining contestants last night — and he thinks Lee DeWyze is getting special treatment!
Sorry Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze, but you made Blake Lewis’ ‘Worst Top 3 of All Time’ list. How’s them apples?
“To be honest, I think the song choices this round made this the worst Top 3 show in American Idol history,” the 28-year-old season six runner-up tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively of the May 18 performances. He added, “Idol has given [Lee] an easy hand to get into the finale. It’s not really fair to Crystal and Casey by giving Lee a production [he sang Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah” with a gospel choir] that big at the end of the show. It leaves the audience feeling like he’s won already.”
The remaining three Idol hopefuls will be performing twice tomorrow night — and hopefully their own song picks are better than the crud the judges chose!
I can’t even tell you how disappointed I am in music ‘professionals’ Simon Cowell, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson. Just wait until you hear the sappy pap they’ve selected for Casey James, Crystal Bowersox and Lee DeWyze to sing during contestant/judge’s choice song week! Read more
While we were hanging out in LA, Lee said he actually believes he has a shot at winning American Idol — which is a big change from the shy, unconfident guy I was expecting!
Never, ever would I have thought that I would be hanging out with the four remaining Idol hopefuls, let alone be joking around and becoming pals with them! But today stars aligned in my favor, and I got to hang with Lee DeWyze, Crystal Bowersox, Big Mike Lynche and Casey James at the American Idol Studio in LA. Sweet! Betters are predicting a Lee/Crystal finale, and I can see why: the guy is utterly devoid of ego, but so cool and collected. When he talked about his future as a winner, it sounded like he really BELIEVED (finally!) good things will happen. Read more
You all saw last night’s double elimination and Adam Lambert’s laser show — but I was there for the Idol taping and can dish everything you missed!
April 14 was a HUGE night for American Idol – double elimination night – and I was there to catch all the action! So get ready, BFF’s — here’s what you definitely didn’t see on TV! Get more behind-the-scenes Idol scoop!
Gross – but probably true. You were the underdog, Lee, and now it looks like you have a shot at superstardom!
Lee DeWyze, you are officially a contender! At least, our own, personal American Idol judge Blake Lewis thinks so! After your performance of “A Little Less Conversation” during Elvis Presley week April 13, Blake thinks you’re a lock to stay in the competition. But which TWO contestants will be sent home now that the judges used their season save on Michael Lynche last week? Take it away, Blake!
Our very own American Idol judge called it once again – we were wondering the very same thing!
American Idol judges Simon Cowell, Ellen DeGeneres, Kara DioGuardi and Randy Jackson WERE a little harsh to 23-year-old Idol hopeful Didi Benami after her “overdone” rendition of “What’s Become of the Broken-Hearted” March 30. But did host Ryan Seacrest really need to comfort SO much by refusing to let go of her hand after her epic fail of a performance? Here’s what HollywoodLife.com’s very own Idol judge Blake Lewis has to say about Ryan’s touchy-feely moment!
