The Vampire Diaries isn’t even two seasons old, and already The CW is uttering the s-word… and no, it’s not “Smolder-halder.” E! Online‘s Kristin Dos Santos is reporting that a spin-off — the phrase used is “companion series,” but I think we all know better — of the mind-blowingly amazing CW series is in the works, with executive producers Kevin Williamson and Julie Plec attached. It’s not yet known if any TVD characters will make the leap over to the new show, which is currently being described as a “one-hour drama about a group of researchers who investigate paranomal happenings.”
Prepare yourself for the unexpected: Now that series regular Kayla Ewell has been killed off, no character is safe on CW’s hit vamp show.
Will they stay or will they go? That’s the question you should be asking yourself when Vampire Diaries returns to the small screen on Jan. 21 at 8 p.m. Unfortunately, only the producers know — and they certainly want to keep all you viewers on your toes.
