Season two of ‘Power’ is about to kick off on June 6, but first HollywoodLife.com sat down with EP Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson as well as star Joseph Sikora who previewed the ‘intense’ actions coming — and why it’s so different than ‘Empire.’
“We’re up against the PG-13 version,” creator and star 50 Cent told us while at the season two junket for Power in New York City. Sitting down next to Joseph Sikora (who plays Tommy on the show), the guys revealed that while they understand their competition — Power is much different, and you can tell that just from the season premiere. Watch our interview!
Get it, guys. At the Billboard Music Awards, the cast of this year’s biggest new TV show, ‘Empire,’ showed everyone why they need to be watching their show– as if they weren’t already!
Freaking awesome. At the 2015 Billboard Music Awards on May 17, Jussie Smollett and Bryshere Gray, the stars of Empire, performed some of the songs from their smash hit new series– and they were joined by special guest, Empire guest star, Estelle! Better yet, series star Taraji P. Henson was on hand to present the performance. The whole thing was absolutely amazing, except for one thing: It made us totally bummed that we still have more than three months until we get new episodes!
Congrats are in order! The nominations for the Critics’ Choice Television Awards have just been announced and the list is stacked with A-listers!
On May 6, the entire list of nominees was announced for the 5th annual Critics’ Choice TV Awards. HBO leads the pack with 27 nominations, followed by FX with 16. Amongst the noms are smash hit series Game of Thrones as well as Empire, including a nom for our girl Taraji P. Henson! The ceremony will be held at the Beverly Hilton on May 31, and before the show, check out a full list of nominees!
Live from New York it’s…Taraji P. Henson! That’s right, Taraji is getting ready to make her ‘Saturday Night Live’ debut, and if these promos are any indication, we can expect to see at least a little bit of Cookie!
Get ready Boo Boo Kitty, Taraji P. Henson is doing Saturday Night Live! The Empire actress will host the Apr. 11 episode and, to prepare, she and cast member Taran Killam shot some promotional clips to give fans a taste. Obviously, Taraji has become very closely associated with her Empire character, Cookie, so can we expect to see some of that alter ego come Saturday? Um, you better believe it boo boo!
Empire is getting Scandal-ous! Well, it might be. A former Scandal star is dropping some big hints that he might pay a visit to another smash televisions series!
This is an exciting prospect! Columbus Short, most well known for playing Harrison on Scandal, might be getting back into the television game in a major way. While promoting his new indie flick, The Girls in Trouble, Columbus played coy about the rumor that he will appear on the second season of Empire, but he isn’t fooling us!
The ‘Empire’ season finale smashed ratings records on March 18, so we’re not too surprised to EXCLUSIVELY learn that stars like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber want to nab a role for season two! Find out who else is trying their damndest to get on the show.
Empire is one of the most successful shows on television right now, and A-List stars like Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber have taken notice. In fact, these celebrities have seen the enormous ratings and know that nabbing a role in season two could be a great opportunity for them to make a lot of money. HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned that they’re going to great lengths to make it happen!
The season one finale of ‘Empire’ was just about as nuts as you could imagine. From arrests to hot hookups to catfights, I’m narrowing down the top 10 most shocking finale moments. Brace yourselves because spoilers are ahead!
My jaw was practically on the floor for the entire duration of Empire’s two-hour season finale on March 18. Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), Lucious (Terrence Howard) and the rest of the Lyon family put me through one crazy rollercoaster of emotions. Cookie and Boo Boo Kitty’s (Grace Gealey) incredible face-off and that epic arrest were just two of my top 10 favorite finale moments!
And just like that, season one of ‘Empire’ came to a dramatic end! After the co-creator promised no cliffhangers, we’ve got to say — that didn’t exactly tie up loose ends! So, what’s in store for next season?
Spoiler alert! If you don’t want to know what went down on the March 18 finale of Empire, you probably shouldn’t keep reading! Co-creator Danny Strong revealed just what he was thinking in when planning that shocking finale!
On the season finale of ‘Empire,’ Lucious is recruiting a legend to join Empire Records: The one and only Snoop Dogg! The two musical titans will team up for some massive–and revenge-driven– payback!
I don’t think any of us are prepared for the Mar. 18 season finale of Empire. The two hour event will feature everything from Cookie’s (Taraji P. Henson) new love affair, to the fallout of Andre’s (Trai Byers) bipolar disorder to–yup!– even Snoop Dogg himself! In this sneak peek for the big episode, we see how Lucious (Terrence Howard) was able to get Snoop on Team Empire– but they’ve both got ulterior motives!
Well, this is an interesting request. Terrence Howard thinks ‘Empire,’ the hit Fox show on which he stars, needs to push the boundaries even further. Specifically, he thinks it needs to make use of the N word!
Easy there, Lucious. Empire star Terrence Howard believes the show needs to be more realistic– with the use of one word in particular. Yup, Terrence insists that the hip hop-centric series should make utilize the N word. In fact, Terrence thinks not using it is actually a form of bigotry! Find out why!
Look out, Cookie! ‘Empire’ might be getting a visit from another diva by the name of Jennifer Lopez, but is there room for the both of them on the island of Manhattan?
Well she’d certainly fit right in. Jennifer Lopez is in talks to appear on Empire when the smash hit series returns for its second season. The American Idol judge sparked speculation when she was spotted chatting with the series’ executive producer and star Terrence Howard. However, a potential roadblock could stand in JLo’s way if she does in fact want to appear on the series– and no, it isn’t Cookie (Taraji P. Henson)!
On the Mar. 11 episode of ‘Empire,’ a shocking confession revealed the truth about Olivia’s baby bombshell– but does the news mean she and little Lola will be leaving the Lyons for good?
We are still completely shocked by Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) confession on the Mar. 11 episode of Empire that he was actually the father of Olivia’s (Raven-Symone) young daughter. The entire scene had us gasping up until the moment that someone was shot and didn’t make it out alive. Now that the truth is out, after years of lying to Jamal (Jussie Smollett), will Olivia and Lola (Leah Jeffries) be permanently banned from the Lyons den?
Well, we saw this one coming. In a sneak peek for the new episode of ‘Empire,’ Cookie and Malcolm’s chemistry finally gets tested out–and it’s very steamy!
Lucious (Terrence Howard) better not find out about this! On the Mar. 11 episode of Empire, it seems like Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is finally getting what she wants out of her crush on her ex-husband’s security guard, Malcolm (Derek Luke). In this sneak peak, we see the two of them totally make out behind Lucious’ back– certainly nothing can go badly with that right?
Jussie is setting the record straight. The rising star of the breakout hit ‘Empire’ revealed to Ellen that he is gay in an all-new interview. Click to WATCH his powerful message.
Jussie Smollett, 31, has come out as a gay man but wants you to know “there’s never been a closet” that he’s been hiding in regarding his sexuality. The Empire star, who plays aspiring singer Jamal, sat down with Ellen DeGeneres after his March 8 appearance to talk from his heart. Just like his strong-willed character on the hip hop soap, Jussie’s message about his personal life is nothing short of inspirational.
So basically, no one on ‘Empire’ is telling the truth ever. In a sneak peek at the Mar. 4 episode, it’s Anika’s turn to try her hand at deceit. And Cookie, obviously, is not pleased.
I’d be pretty nervous if I were Anika (Grace Gealey). In a sneak peek at the upcoming episode of Empire, Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) fiancee gets caught in what seems to be a big ol’ lie, and Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) is going to make sure she won’t get away with it. Watch the clip now to see how the former Mrs. Lyon springs into action and–bonus!– the term “bye, Felicia,” is used!
