Two new Downton Abbey trailers hit the web this week — one from British broadcaster ITV, and another from PBS — and they both reveal some wild surprises from the show’s upcoming third season, including a new forbidden romance for Thomas (Rob James-Collier), who apparently does have emotions under all those layers of evil.
Plus, it sounds like Thomas will finally get some action in season three! Who’s the lucky guy?
Wedding bells are ringing at Downton Abbey — but before Matthew (Dan Stevens) and Mary (Michelle Dockery) say “I do,” they’re dishing out major spoilers about their big day! The third season premieres in 2013 in the U.S., and the show’s stars recently spilled their upper-crust guts to the UK’s Mirror, revealing serious relationship drama to come.
Money, marriage & MacLaine! Get the scoop on the Crawleys’ major drama to come.
We’ve seen brief clips and we’ve heard plenty of rumors, but now that the first official trailer for the third season of Downton Abbey has hit the web, we finally have a concrete look at what’s in store — and it’s looking pretty grim. The Crawleys have some serious drama coming their way, both familial and financial; Oh, and did I mention Shirley MacLaine?
‘Downton Abbey’ returns with new episodes in Jan. 2013 — and there’s a whole new war brewing!
The Dowager Countess (Maggie Smith) may have finally met her match! During the American Film Institute’s tribute to Shirley MacLaine on June 24, TV Land viewers were treated to a world-premiere clip of Shirley on Downton Abbey‘s third season — she’s playing Cora’s (Elizabeth McGovern) mother from across the pond — and it looks like she’s already sparring with the show’s resident snipster.
Matthew Crawley may walk down the aisle with Lady Mary on the show, but his real-life wife is expecting their second child — congrats!
Downton Abbey star Dan Stevens and his wife Susie Stevens will be welcoming another baby soon! The actor, 29, and his wife, 36, already have a two-year-old daughter named Willow Stevens.
Well it shouldn’t be too big of a surprise — but it looks like a wedding is coming to Downton!
Downton Abbey won’t be back on American television screens until 2013 — but the series is already filming in England, and thanks to paparazzi attention, we get a taste of what is to come!
David tweeted that he’d love to be on the popular PBS series — and he couldn’t be more perfect for the role!
In the season two finale of Downton Abbey, the Earl of Grantham (Hugh Bonneville) reveals to his daughter Lady Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery) that he knows she slept with the Turkish ambassador way back in season one, and he doesn’t care if the revelation ruins the family. He suggests to Mary that she go visit her grandmother in America to find herself a cowboy from the “middle west” to “shake things up” at Downton while the scandal dies down. Although it’s unclear if Mary will actually go to America now that she’s engaged to Matthew Crawley (Dan Stevens) (yes, they are related — but distantly), one actor hopes she does. David Boreanaz tweeted after watching the show that he wants to throw his hat in the ring for the part.
Watch a one-minute preview of Sunday’s season finale!
The Feb. 19 season finale of PBS’ Downton Abbey is all about trials, both of the court and of the heart. While Mr. Bates (Brendan Coyle) awaits the judge’s ruling over the alleged killing of his bitchy ex-wife, Mary (Michelle Dockery) has her own decision to make: stay with the evil Robert Carlisle (Iain Glen), or dump him for that golden-haired babe Matthew Crowley (Dan Stevens). Oh, and did I forget to mention it’s Christmastime?
From silhouettes to waist tiered velvet dresses to low set buns — the Tadashi Shoji Collection and Downton Abbey are similar in more ways than one! Check out the comparisons!
Runway models of Tadashi Shoji Fall 2012 collection could have been mistaken for Lady Sybil (Jessica Brown Findlay) and Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) of PBS’s Downton Abbey — the looks of the collection are as if they have been themed pre-flapper era.
