Bio:
Gerard Baker (born Gerard Baker) is a British-born journalist. After graduating from the U.K.’s Oxford University in 1983, Gerard pursued a career in political journalism after being fascinated with current affairs, politics, and history since he was a young boy. He visited New York in 1986 and fell in love with the idea of living and working there, which led him to a job with BBC in 1998. After leaving BBC in 1993, he worked for the Financial Times and eventually took over as chief of the bureau in Washington. Gerard was appointed deputy editor-in-chief of the Wall Street Journal and the Dow Jones newswires in 2009 and took over Robert Thomson’s role as editor-in-chief in January 2013. Thanks to his reputable background, Gerard was selected to be a moderator for the fourth GOP primary debate on Nov. 10, 2015.

Personal Life:
Although Gerard’s personal life remains relatively private, it was revealed in a 2014 interview with Spiegel Online that he has five daughters. According to his Twitter, he currently resides in New York City.
