Aldon Smith (born Aldon Jacarus Smith on September 25, 1989 in Greenwood, Mississippi) is an American professional football player. Aldon attended Raytown High School in Raytown, Missouri, scoring 60 tackles and 21 sacks in his senior year. He was considered a three-star recruit by Rivals.com and the No. 5 prospect in all of Missouri. Aldon decided to play for the University of Missouri. Aldon left school in 2011, entering himself in the 2011 Draft. The San Francisco 49ers drafted Aldon as the 7th Overall Pick. As a NFL rookie, Aldon became NFL Rookie of the Month and broke the 49ers record for most sacks by a rookie in a single season. In 2012, Aldon continued his success, setting a Monday Night Football record for most sacks. In 2013, Aldon was involved in a single vehicle accident in San Jose, California. He was arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of marijuana. In 2014, Aldon was suspended nine games for violating the NFL personal conduct and substance abuse policies regarding an incident in the Los Angeles International Airport. Aldon was reportedly belligerent towards a TSA agent, telling the worker that he had a bomb. On Aug. 06, 2015, Aldon was arrested for an alleged hit and run while driving under the influence. Aldon was released by the 49ers the next day.
