The Vanderpump Rules cast has undergone a major shakeup ahead of season nine. From the firings of OG cast members Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute to new faces, there’s been no shortage of drama surrounding the long running Bravo reality series. Originally developed as a spin-off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, eight seasons have aired on Bravo and its star Lisa Vanderpump is practically a household name. The show follows the former Housewife and the staff at her restaurant, SUR, in the celeb hotspot West Hollywood. We’re looking back at the season one cast to see where they are now: see pics of Stassi Schroeder, Scheana Shay, Jax Taylor, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute, and Tom Schwartz.

At the heart of ‘Vanderpump Rules’ is Lisa! The SUR restaurant owner was first introduced to Bravo on the 2010 premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, before landing her spinoff based on the Los Angeles hotspot.

Stassi quickly became a fan favorite when Vanderpump Rules debuted. The longtime cast member was involved in every season of the show until she was booted from the series in June 2020. The firing came after a 2018 racist incident involving her co-star, Faith Stowers, was brought to light. She called the cops on Faith after seeing an article about an African American woman who was robbing people. After departing the show, she welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with husband Beau Clark.

Scheana Shay is one of the only OG cast members still involved with the show. The reality star, who welcomed a baby girl in early 2021 with boyfriend Brock Davies, is seemingly still on board with the show. She also has other career ventures, including her weekly podcast Scheananigans with Scheana Shay.

Original cast member Jax Taylor surprised both fans, and his cast mates when he revealed via Instagram that he and wife Brittany were leaving the show in December 2020. Jax starred on the show for eight seasons, while Brittany was on the show for five years. “The last 8 years on Vanderpump Rules have been some of the most challenging, rewarding and fulfilling years of my life,” Jax wrote in a lengthy IG caption. “Although this is difficult to share, Brittany and I will not be returning for another season of Vanderpump Rules.”

OG Vanderpump Rules star Kristen Doute had a highly publicized demise following a racist incident in 2018 involving her former cast mate Faith Stowers. “Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder [and] Kristen Doute … will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules,” the network confirmed to HollywoodLife in 2020. Kristen was a full time cast member on VPR from its inception in 2013.

Katie Maloney

Katie Maloney has been a full-time cast member since season one of Vanderpump Rules. She quickly became a fan favorite as the show followed her relationship with Tom Schwartz, and her relatable struggles with body image. She and Tom exchanged vows in 2017.

Tom appeared on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s podcast, Give Them Lala … with Randall after the high publicized cast firings in June. “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It doesn’t feel real,” he admitted. “Maybe I’m running from it a little bit or I’m in denial that it ever happened.” Regardless, Tom is still looking forward to the new direction that the show is taking.

OG cast member, Tom Schwartz, who is famously one of the least problemtic, is looking forward to season nine. He appeared on Lala Kent and Randall Emmett’s podcast, after a number of his season one co-stars were fired in 2020. “I don’t think I’ve processed it. It doesn’t feel real,” he admitted. “Maybe I’m running from it a little bit or I’m in denial that it ever happened.”
