Although Tom was first married to Samantha Lewes from 1978-1987 — having two children with her, Colin Hanks and Elizabeth Hanks – he met Rita in 1981 on the set of the TV comedy ‘Bosom Buddies.’ While sparks didn’t fly quite then, the two reunited in 1985 on the set of ‘Volunteers.’ After his divorced was finalized in 1987, the couple pursued a relationship and tied the knot in 1988. The pair went on to welcome two sons — Chester Marlon ‘Chet’ Hanks and Truman Theodre. The couple resides in Los Angeles with their family. Tom and Rita have always been incredibly supportive of each other’s careers. Whether it’s attending premieres or awards ceremonies, they are always at each other’s side, proving that love can really last in Hollywood.
