Miracles do still happen in the movies, and ‘The Princess Diaries’ is one of them. ‘The Princess Diaries’ was released on July 21, 2001, and became an instant hit. The movie follows Mia Thermopolis, who thinks she’s just an ordinary teenager. In reality, she’s a princess of Genovia. The movie starred Anne Hathaway as Mia and Julie Andrews as Queen Clarice. The movie was such a hit that a sequel was greenlit. ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’ was released in 2004.

When ‘The Princess Diaries’ came out, Anne was an unknown star. The movie was her feature film debut. Since the movie and its sequel, Anne has starred in countless other hit films like ‘The Devil Wears Prada,’ ‘The Dark Knight Rises,’ ‘Interstellar,’ ‘Love and Other Drugs,’ and more. She was nominated for her first Oscar in 2009 for ‘Rachel Getting Married.’ She won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2013 for her performance as Fantine in ‘Les Misérables.’ Since 2012, Anne has been married to Adam Shulman. They have two kids.

Julie Andrews is one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars. She played Queen Clarice Renaldi in ‘The Princess Diaries’ and its 2004 sequel. After ‘The Princess Diaries,’ Julie voiced the role of Queen Lillian in multiple ‘Shrek’ movies. She was the narrator of the 2007 film ‘Enchanted.’ Her latest live-action film role was the Head Fairy in the 2010 movie ‘Tooth Fairy.’ She has also voiced the role of Marlena in the ‘Despicable Me’ movies. Since 2020, she has voiced the role of Lady Whistledown in the hit Netflix series ‘Bridgerton.’ Julie released her memoir, ‘Home Work: A Memoir of My Hollywood Years,’ in 2019.

Mandy Moore played mean girl Lana Thomas in ‘The Princess Diaries.’ The movie was just the beginning of Mandy’s film career. She also starred in movies like ‘A Walk to Remember,’ ‘Chasing Liberty,’ ‘How to Deal,’ ‘Because I Said So,’ and more.’ She voiced Rapunzel in the hit 2010 Disney film ‘Tangled.’ Mandy had a notable guest-starring role on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ Since 2016, she has played Rebecca Pearson on ‘This Is Us.’ She has been nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe for her performance. 

Mandy dated Zach Braff from 2004 to 2006. She was married to Ryan Adams from 2009 to 2016. She married Taylor Goldsmith in 2018. They welcomed their first child, a boy, in 2021.

Robert Schwartzman played Michael Moscovitz, Lilly’s brother, in ‘The Princess Diaries.’ Robert appeared as himself on ‘The O.C.’ in 2004. He directed ‘Dreamland,’ ‘The Unicorn,’ and ‘The Argument.’ He is the lead vocalist of the band Rooney. His latest film role was in the 2019 movie ‘Lost Transmissions.’

He notably appeared as Callie’s dad on ‘Grey’s Anatomy.’ From 2011 to 2021, he starred as Ed Alzate on ‘Last Man Standing.’ The actor recently appeared in the 2021 film ‘Music’ and the Rita Moreno documentary.
